JP

I just wanted to share a few of my favorite pictures from Elle's birth - JP and his newest gal and one of me right after her delivery. During the pregnancy and after her birth, JP was and still is fabulous. We are very fortunate to have a husband and father like JP. We love you sweet JP!

Getting to know you

On December 5 at 7:30am we welcomed, to quote my mother, our "bundle of joy and heaven", Ellyn Claire. Loving named after my grandmother Lucretia Ellyn, our Elle has deep blue eyes with hair that changes with the light from blonde to red to light brown. I'm curious to see if her coloring will turn to favor her daddy or stay fair skinned like me. She is alert with her big eyes wide open most of the time she is awake. It makes me think she understands everything I tell her, although the experts tell me differently. But I'll keep pretending she does. :-)
Our hospital experience was memorable with a c-section operation, a bout with an eye infection for both Elle and me, to hiding in the bathroom as a tornado warning kept Collin County and Medical Center of Plano on high alerts. We were taken great care of, but were sure happy to be home!
Elle spends most of her day eating and sleeping, but through every minute we spend with her we learn more about her. My mother says that soon Elle and I will be best friends. It reminds me of a song from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King and I, "Getting to know you, getting to know all about you. Getting to like you, Getting to hope you like me."
